Storant has created an autonomous restaurant with COVID-safe technology
The COVID pandemic has certainly changed our lives, perhaps permanently, but there is new technology being developed that can still help us live a normal life and stay safe at the same time.
Storant is a South Korean company that has created a smart automatic restaurant which include an autonomous serving robot and an antivirus table.
With the company’s robotic creations, it’s now possible for a customer to order via kiosk and have their food delivered by a server robot as they sit at an anti-virus table.
The serving robot uses autonomous driving technology and includes obstacle recognition and obstacle avoidance.
It even has the ability to identify different drinks.
There are three shelves on the autonomous serving robot with holders for cups and plates to avoid spillage.
The antivirus table provides a safe space for customers to eat and drink by using ventilation to minimise droplets that may escape into the air while we’re talking as well as applying air sterilisation and purification.
This sterilisation process uses hydrogen water which can immediately destroy the cell membrane component of bacteria on contact.
