Modern technology gives us many things.

ASUS unveils its first Windows Copilot+ PC – the impressive Vivobook S 15 laptop.

ASUS has revealed its first Copilot+ PC offering – the lightweight and powerful Vivobook S 15 that has been optimised to include the impressive new Windows 11 AI features.

The ASUS Vivobook is available now to pre-order and will go on sale on June 18 in Australia for $2,799.

The ASUS announcement comes a day after Microsoft introduced a whole new era of computing with Copilot+ PC.

The laptop is powered by the new Snapdragon X Elite SoC (system on a chip) which offers the world’s fastest NPU (neural processing unit) that can deliver 45 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) to process on device the new Windows AI tools as well as ASUS’s very own AI software.

The Vivobook S 15 has a 15.6-inch 3K ASUS Lumina OLED display which has an 89 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

On the audio side is a Harmon Kardon Dolby Atmos system.

Design-wise the S 15 has a sleek look with 14.7mm thickness, a weight of 1.42kg and packing a 70Wh battery that delivers more than 18 hours of battery life.

It has 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD (solid state drive).

And part of Microsoft’s qualifications for this new PC category is a dedicated Copilot key for easy access.

“AI has been building momentum as a technology, particularly with the use of personal assistance, and that is why we are ushering in a new era of AI computing where AI takes on a more integrated role in our lives and in the PC space, helping to make what Australians do on their PCs, easier, smarter and faster,” says Bradley Howe, Head of Consumer, ASUS Australia.

“We’ve designed the Vivobook S 15 as an intelligent PC companion that makes creating, productivity and learning tasks more convenient and enjoyable for Australians.”

ASUS says the onboard AI will revolutionize content creation, productivity and learning and will meet consumers’ computing needs.

AI has become the new revelation of computing with 53 per cent of Australian professionals using or experimenting with generative AI at work.

ASUS has enabled users to create content at the touch of a button, streamline workflows, automated repetitive processes and allowed for the removal of manual tasks.

It can also organise emails and your files.

For learning, AI provides easily accessible to tools for students.

At the heart of the ASUS Vivobook S 15 is the Snapdragon Elite Processor – a dedicated AI chip – which can deliver the speed and performance required to process AI on the device instead of in the cloud.

“The PC is reborn with Snapdragon X Elite, and we are excited to collaborate with ASUS to put incredible innovation like the ASUS Vivobook S 15 in the hands of users, making a formidable range of AI devices that meet the needs of consumers now and in the future,” says ST Liew, Vice President of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd. and President of Qualcomm Taiwan & SEA, Australia, New Zealand.

Dan Johnson, Windows & Microsoft 365 Category Lead for Microsoft ANZ, highlights the benefits of Edge AI: “We believe the richest AI experiences will only be possible when the cloud and device work together in concert.

“Now with the introduction of the Copilot+ PCs, I’m excited that together with our partners, such as ASUS, we can set the frame for the next decade of Windows innovation.”

ASUS has also included a range of exclusive software to help customers us AI in their daily lives.

These include:

– ASUS StoryCube: An AI-powered digital asset-management tool, which can automatically organise photos and videos.

– ASUS AI Noise Cancellation:  This leverages a deep-learning database to reduce background noise in meetings and calls, for clear audio.

– ASUS Adaptive Dimming: A technology that recognises when a user looks away and dims the screen, which helps to maintain power consumption.

– ASUS Adaptive Lock: With this feature, the laptop will be automatically locked when the user moves away and unlocked when they return, helping to ensure greater security.
