New Fetch Mini G5 makes room for Android
Fetch has revealed an updated version of their Fetch Mini device running a “world first” hybrid RDK-Android operating system.
The Fetch Mini G5 is on sale now for $149 and is likely to be the first Fetch device to offer new apps previously unavailable on Fetch devices – but there’s no word yet on what apps that might include.
New Fetch CEO Dominic Arena says “We have invested heavily over the past year to pioneer this revolutionary hybrid technology together with our software integration partner, Consult Red, to enable us to deliver an unmatched suite of family-friendly entertainment and lifestyle options all in one place, on Fetch. We’ve upped the game in the Australian home entertainment market where no one today matches the Fetch platform’s breadth of features, capabilities and options for family households at such an affordable price.”
It’s the smallest Fetch device to date, measuring just 10cm square but still packs 4GB of RAM (up on Gen 4), and all the latest specs for streaming plus a free-to-air tuner.
Fetch Mini G5 is available from Telstra, iiNet, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys.
