Jaycar Electronics launches innovative new concept store
Leading technology retailer Jaycar Electronics will open its first concept store in Sydney next week and launch a new retail experience which encourages customers to imagine what’s possible with technology.
“Think. Possible” will be the new catchcry for the store which aims to do for technology what Bunnings did for hardware and present an opportunity to expand customer horizons with what’s possible in the connected home.
The new store will be located at Central Park Mall, across from the University of Technology in Sydney and will span more than 420 square metres.
Customers will find the usual fare at Jaycar – everything from cable connectors to computing accessories and more than 7,000 active product lines.
There will also be display areas along with collaborative work spaces.
The central part of the store will be a Jaycar first – a dedicated space known as the Maker Hub where customers can take part in workshops, challenges, attend events and even use 3D printers with their own projects whether they are tech savvy or a beginner.
“We are trying to push the boundaries of experiential retailing in this sphere,” says Jaycar’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jarrod Carroll.
“Our new Maker Hub space will allow customers to have hands-on experience with many of our products.
“For example, people will be able to work on benches with Arduino & Raspberry Pi microcontrollers and experience various workshops lead by our in-store tech experts.
“It’s all about inspiring people through the endless possibilities of technology.”
To celebrate the opening of the Central Park Mall concept store, Jaycar will be running Tech Fest from June 14-16 and will be offering free tunes and chips, daily giveaways and promotions on a range of products.
Also happening in-store during those three days will be workshops and interactive demonstrations to give customers examples on how various technologies work together.
Customers can book their place in the workshops via email to broadway@jaycar.com.au or on the day with store staff.
The new store layout makes it easier for shoppers to search for products and provides Instant Check Out services and extended Click and Collect available for local businesses to shop around the clock.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jaycar’s first of its kind store as the latest addition to the lifestyle and forward-thinking mix of retailers at Central Park Mall and look forward to fostering inspiration and innovation within the local community,” says Frasers Property Australia, General Manager, Assets, Felicity Armstrong.
