Modern technology gives us many things.

Withings launches Beamo – the world’s first multiscope so you can do a complete check-up at home

Withings unveiled a brand new home medical device at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas – it’s called Beamo – the world’s first multiscope that will enable at-home check-ups and make telehealth visits even more worthwhile.

Beamo is a device that combines an ECG, oximeter, stethoscope and thermometer to conduct a 4-in-1 health check-up in less than a minute.

It also has audio streaming so physicians can talk to the patient and guide the placement of the device.

“BeamO is a transformative multiscope device. Once, body temperature was the only health scan routinely taken at home,” said Eric Carreel, Founder and President of Withings.

“BeamO will revolutionise the measurement of the core vitals carried out during medical visits from the comfort of one’s own home.

“This crucial data will provide a vital overview of overall health or warning signs of potential areas of concern. Instead of measuring these stats a couple of times a year in a clinical setting, it will be possible to assess them every day.

“BeamO will be the thermometer of the future, providing the ability to assess temperature and observe the state of the heart and lungs.”

“Post-pandemic telemedicine is commonplace. While convenient and cost-effective, remote visits lacked the ability for health professionals to carry out the routine checks they perform in person.

“BeamO will make this possible remotely with a device that combines the functionality of four different pieces of medical equipment.”
Beamo has sensors that can beam light waves and interpret blood flow patterns and your temperature.

Photoplethysmography (PPG) and electrodes down each side allows BeamO to perform blood oxygenation (SpO2) and heart rate readings at the same time.

Beamo can also perform accurate body core temperature readings with a simple non-invasive scan of the temporal artery.

Beamo can also be used like a stethoscope to capture back and chest soundwaves with results able to be heard through the onboard USB-C port using headphones.

Naturally the device syncs up with the Withings app to maintain a complete health record for you and your family.

Beamo will be priced at $449.99 when it goes on sale in Australia in the coming weeks.
