Microsoft to add dedicated Copilot key to Windows 11 keyboards in first major change in 30 years

Microsoft is introducing a dedicated Copilot key For Windows 11 keyboards – the first major change to a PC keyboard in almost 30 years.

Microsoft says 2024 will be the year of the AI PC.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Microsoft will introduce the Copilot key on a number of new Windows 11 PCs from its ecosystem partners.

These new computers will be available from late February.

The Copilot key will also be introduced across all Surface devices at around the same time.

Copilot marks a major shift in the Windows 11 PC experience with the ability to weave in AI as part of a customer’s daily workflow.

Copilot AI can help customers increase their efficiency, create and edit content, summarised lengthy documents and unread emails, compose letters and responses and much, much more.

The Copilot key will now join the Windows key as a central part of the PC keyboard.

When it is pressed, it invokes the Copilot in Windows experience to make it easier to engage with the impressive new technology every single day.
