Grab the popcorn – BenQ launches new 4K home cinema projectors

BenQ has launched affordable new true 4K HDR-PRO projectors to offer customers a cinema-like experience in their home and enjoy their favourite films and TV shows on a larger scale.

The BenQ CinePrime W5700 and W2700 DLP (digital light processing) projectors both offer high image quality and world-class colour performance which can also be customised to suit your surroundings.

Both models have 3840 x 2160 resolution and 8.3 million distinct pixels and are capable of projecting an image up to 300 inches (W5700) and 200 inches (W2700).

They utilise a pristine 4K optical system which incorporates six structured groups of all glass lens elements  for brilliant light transmission an impressive image quality.

The W5700  has a brightness of 1800 ANSI Lumens and the W2700 has 2000 ANSI Lumens.

Both adopt the digital cinema industries DCI-P3 colour standard to bring the latest 4K discs to life with authentic colours and contrast as envisioned by the filmmakers.

The products also leverage the BenQ CinematicColour technology with the W5700 providing 100 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and the W2700 covering 95 per cent.

Also on board both units to provide added quality to the 4K picture is HDR-PRO technology which is specifically optimised for projection.

HDR-PRO supports both HDR10 and HLG formats and incorporates auto colour and tone mapping for added brightness and contrast ranges to optimise the 4K clarity and realism.

The new BenQ projectors are aimed at users who want to set up a dedicated space to create that customised cinema experience in their home.

The projectors are light weight and have a compact profile and, thanks to its versatile short throw, zoom mode and lens shift, can be set up to suit the various scenarios and reviewing conditions in your home.

The W5700 and W2700 also have audio on board for those who don’t have dedicated speakers but they can be incorporated into an existing surround sound set up.

The BenQ W2700  is available now for $2499 while the W5700 will go on sale in April for $3999.
