Avatar to be released in 3D on Blu-ray on October 24
Avatar, the most successful film of all time, will be released on Blu-ray Disc for in a special 3D Collector’s Edition on October 24.
James Cameron’s box office blockbuster will now be able to be enjoyed at home as it was in cinemas – in stunning high definition 3D on Blu-ray.
“3D television is the future of home entertainment,” says Oscar-winning director James Cameron.
“I’m a huge proponent of the technology and very pleased that Avatar can be viewed in the living room the way it was meant to be seen.”
The Avatar 3D Blu-ray Collector’s Edition will feature the original 3D theatrical release in all-new packaging.
“As the number of homes with 3D televisions continues to grow, we thought it was important to bring the biggest 3D film ever right into your living room,” says Academy Award winning producer of Avatar Jon Landau.
“This is the only way fans should experience the world of Pandora and this release offers the highest picture quality possible.”
The only version of Avatar on Blu-ray in 3D was previously available only to viewers in an exclusive deal with Panasonic.
The Avatar 3D Collector’s Edition from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will be available in wide release on October 24.
