Titanic sails onto Blu-ray in 2D and 3D September 12
James Cameron’s box office giant Titanic is finally being released on Blu-ray Disc in full high definition on September 12 and will include both the 2D and 3D versions of the film.
Titanic won 11 Academy Awards and made more than $2b at the box office which included a successful re-release earlier this year after a stunning 3D conversion.
“Blu-ray extends Titanic’s immersive 3D theatrical experience into audiences’ homes, where their living room becomes the backdrop for big spectacular environments and intense action, as well as profoundly intimate human moments, allowing generations of fans – new and old – to truly become part of the movie like never before,” said writer/director James Cameron.
The Titanic Blu-ray Disc will include two and a half hours of all-new bonus material including an in-depth look at the film with James Cameron himself.
There will also be a National Geographic documentary produced with Cameron which examines the mysteries behind why the seemingly “unsinkable” ship sank 100 years ago.
Also included on the disc will be 29 deleted scenes, more than 60 behind-the-scenes featurettes, a look at the visual effects and more than 2000 photos from the set.
Titanic fans can pre-order Titanic 2D Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray at JB Hi-Fi, Big W, Sanity and EzyDVD.
