The new DJI Avata 2 takes the FPV flying experience to new heights

DJI has unveiled the brand new DJI Avata 2 – which provides a stunning FPV flying experience with improved image quality and even longer flight times.

DJI also announced the new DJI Goggles 3 and the DJI RC Motion 3 which work hand in hand with the Avata 2.

The DJI Avata 2 is a lot different to the regular DJI drones.

It is a lot faster and more manoeuvrable and can shoot incredible first person view videos to make you feel like you’re in the cockpit.

The drone can even perform flips, rolls and drifts.

“Just under two years ago, we helped people embrace and explore the almost out-of-body experience of FPV flight,” said Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director at DJI.

“DJI Avata 2 builds on this by offering everyone the chance to fly like a pro with easy flips, rolls and drifts.

“We’re looking forward to giving users one of the best FPV experiences available with next to no effort needed on their part.”

Is has 1/1.3-inch CMOS super wide-angle 12 megapixel camera with improved dynamic range so we can handle all kinds of conditions including low light.

It has an ultra-wide lens with a viewing angle of up to 155-degrees to give you an amazing perspective which looks different from traditional camera drone footage.

It can shoot add up to 4K at 60fps as well as slow motion footage at 2.7K/120fps.

Avata 2 also has 10-bit D-Log M colour mode so your images and videos will be rich in detail and ready to be improved in post production.

Despite its speed and manoeuvrability, the DJI Avata 2 keeps your videos sharp and clear thanks to a powerful stabilisation algorithm and gimbal.

DJI RockSteady takes the shake out of your images even while flying at high speed or in high winds.

DJI HorizonSteady keeps the footage locked on the horizon even when the drone turns or sways sharply.

The drone also has an integrated propeller guard which is lighter than the previous model to give it even more agility an easier navigation in tight spaces.

One press of the RC Motion 3 lock button can bring the drone to an immediate halt.

An automatic return to home is also initiated when the drone battery he’s starting to run low.

If the drone happens to land on its back, users can quickly be airborne again by using Turtle Mode which can automatically flip the drone back into take-off position.

The new DJI Goggles 3 have adjustable diopters and include two micro OLED screens with support for 10-bit enhanced display and up to 100Hz refresh rate.

They are also equipped with binocular cameras that allow the pilot to see the surrounding environment which can then also be superimposed with the live feed from the aircraft at the same time.

This means they can have situational awareness without having to take off the goggles.

The DJ Goggles 3 can also provide a live feed which can be viewed on the DJI Fly app.

The DJI RC Motion 3 is a handheld joystick that gives pilots the power for remarkable manoeuvrability including flips, drifts and roles and other difficult aerial aerobatics.

The manoeuvres include one-push flip to add twists to your footage with 360-degree front and back flips while the one-push roll brings 360-degree left and right rolls while the one push 180-degree drift can offer dramatic effects with high speed lateral drifts that spin 180-degrees past the object and then pull away at speed.

The DJI of R2 has a maximum flight time of 23 minutes and support for speedy PD (power delivery) fast charging so you can get back up in the sky quickly.

It has a new two-way charging hub which can allow the transfer of remaining power from multiple batteries to the one with the highest charge level.

Onboard is 46GB of internal storage which is enough for a 90 minutes of 1080/60fps video.

The wi-fi connectivity also means fast file transfer to smartphones so you can easily edit and share your videos straight away.
