Get up close to the latest devices at the Technology and Gadget Expo 2017

The Technology and Gadget Expo kicks off in Melbourne this week to showcase the latest products, inventions, start-ups and innovations from across Australia in an interactive way.

The TGE 2017 will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 19 and August 20.

And this year’s showing has more than twice the number of exhibits than last year’s event which attracted more than 26,000 visitors.

Organisers are expected up to 40,000 attendees to come through the doors this year.

They will get a chance to go hands-on with the latest tech and never-before-seen products from the leading companies.

These products will also be on sale and available to purchase by Expo attendees.

According to a Neilsen Global New Product Innovation Survey of more than 30,000 customers in 60 countries including Australia – one in four Australians (26 per cent) see themselves as early adopters of new technology.

And 34 per cent of Australians say they’reprepared to pay a premium for innovative products while 49 per cent say they like to brag about the new devices they have purchased.

At TGE 2017 there will be showcases of new technology including virtual reality, augmented reality and simulators along with gaming experiences.

Also at the Expo there will be a track to test drive the latest personal transportation solutions including electric bikes, electric scooters and electric skateboards.

Attendees will also find a Drone Zone which will display the latest unmanned aerial vehicles inside a flying arena and demonstration area.

Robotics and 3D printing will also have a place at the expo to show the uses for this technology in everything from early learning and coding to manufacturing and medicine.

The popular area of health and lifestyle products will also be included with products like wearables and gadgets for the outdoors also on show.

The Technology and Gadget Expo 2017 kicks off at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre at 9:30am on Saturday, August 19 and will run until 5pm on Sunday, August 20.

A one day pass for adults is priced at $23 and children under 14 admitted for $9.

A family pass for two adults and three children is priced at $62.

An adult two-day pass will cost $40 while a child’s two-day pass is $14. A two-day family pass is $100.
