The Muscle Suit can protect your back when lifting heavy objects using air pressure
It won’t turn you into a superhero, but it will increase your strength and capabilities – it’s the Muscle Suit – a wearable exoskeleton which was on show at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Created by Japanese company Innophys, Muscle Suit can help with labour intensive tasks that require the user to bend and lift.
Not only will the Muscle Suit give you the added leverage to lift things up to 25.5kg in weight it will also protect your back.
Without the Muscle Suit this sort of lifting would have sent you to the chiropractor.
It’s ideal for factory workers, carers, farmers and anyone who has to work in uncomfortable position and lift heavy objects.
And there is not electronics onboard so it needs no power – the Muscle Suit works entirely using air pressure.
The suit itself weighs 3.8kg and straps on to your back with also clips on to the front of your thighs to offer leverage that takes the strain off your back.
Factory workers and farmers often have to lift and move heavy objects – the Muscle Suit can keep them safe.
It’s also useful for caregivers who often need to bend over and lift or re-position a patient.
