Foxtel GO app now allows Chromecast and AirPlay streaming
Foxtel has relaunched its popular Foxtel GO app which will now allow subscribers watch their live and on demand service in high definition and also stream it to their televisions at no extra cost.
Foxtel GO is designed for mobility so subscribers can enjoy their favourite content anywhere on their mobile device.
Now users can also stream from the app on their mobile device to their television using Chromecast or AirPlay.
But this will only be possible if they already have a Foxtel multiroom subscription.
It’s already possible to register Foxtel GO on up to five mobile devices and watch onto screens at the same time so subscribers can watch more content in more places.
Users can also watch Foxtel GO on their PC on the Google Chrome browser or on their Mac on the Safari browser.
New features of the app includes personal WatchLists, Closed Captioning as well as universal Continue Watching across Foxtel GO supported devices.
Adding Chromecast and AirPlay support to Foxtel GO is designed to give subscribers even more value to their service.
“We’ve been working hard at Foxtel to ensure that this year is one like never before,” says Foxtel CEO Patrick Delany.
“We have momentum behind our push to improve the way our customers enjoy the high-quality entertainment experience they are paying for.
“We got things started with our newly secured cricket rights that are set to bowl customers over with no ad-breaks during live play starting this November, and our recently announced 4K channel will bring the sights of sport, movies and docos to you like you’ve never seen this coming October.
“Today, we’re bringing a familiar name back to our mobile app, Foxtel GO, and giving it a high-def makeover while adding the ability for our Multiroom customers to share it with big screens when you’re away from home.
“Foxtel is a great entertainment option for a family who can watch it together or rip it apart so each member of the family can watch what they want, where they want and when they want.
“These changes are just the beginning as we continue to make the way customers experience Foxtel better than ever before.”
