GoPro Hero4 action camera software update adds new features

The popular GoPro Hero4 Black and Hero4 Silver just got a bit smarter and more versatile thanks to a software upgrade that includes new features.

The GoPro Hero4 cameras can be updated through the GoPro app for iOS and Android to capture even more dynamic photos and videos.

There are a number of new features and abilities that have been added to the devices. These include:

TIME-LAPSE VIDEO MODE

Now you can capture time-lapse videos automatically without the need for any postproduction work. You can showcase short and easily shareable videos that were shot over a period of time.

30/6 BURST PHOTO

You will never miss the moment with the ability to capture 30 photos in six seconds. With this feature you can still get the shot even during fast activities.

AUTO ROTATE

When the GoPro is mounted upside down it will now automatically adjust the orientation to right side up for your recording.

HIGHLIGHT TAGS

When recording or playing back a video it’s now possible to mark key moments on the built-in display to make it easier to find the highlights for your final edit.

720P 240FPS VIDEO (HERO4 BLACK ONLY)

Now you can record ultra high frame videos at 240fps (frames per second) to provide excellent slow motion playback.

2.7K 60FPS VIDEO (HERO4 BLACK ONLY)

If you’re after a more cinematic look to your videos you can get it with 2.7K footage captured at 60fps.

The GoPro Hero4 Black and Hero4 Silver are available now and are priced at $679 and $549 respectively.
