Garmin’s new Forerunner 935 multi-sport watch can keep your training on track
Garmin has introduced the Forerunner 935 – a new GPS running and triathlon watch that offers athletes new performance monitoring and wrist-based heart rate technology.
Forerunner 935 offers new training features that allows users to fine tune their exercise program and their recovery.
“With similar features to the fēnix 5 – our popular multisport GPS watch built for fitness, adventure and style – the Forerunner 935 is catered more towards triathletes looking for a slimline performance watch” said Adam Howarth, General Manager Garmin Australasia.
“As a top-of-the-line GPS smartwatch, the Forerunner 935 not only provides users with insight into how their body is responding to fitness, but also offers data for every activity, allows them to automatically upload to Garmin Connect, and is customisable with free apps, data fields and more from the Connect IQ™ store.”
The device is aimed at serious trainers who want even more insight into how they are responding to their exercise program.
Training Status analyses previous exercise and fitness levels while Training Load helps determine if your exercise is in the right zone and whether they are too easy or too hard.
These new training metrics will give you a better idea on whether you’re pushing your limits or whether you can go even harder.
The Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology, the Forerunner 935 gives you 24/7 monitoring without the need for an additional chest strap.
It has GPS onboard as well as ABC – altimeter, barometer and compass – to show real-time elevation information, changes in the weather and your exact bearings.
TrainingPeaks is a new app installed on the Forerunner 935 so you can download free workouts complete with intensity targets and interval durations.
These sessions can be synced back to the TrainingPeaks app for a detailed performance analysis and to measure your progress towards your goals.
The Garmin Forerunner 935 can also be paired with your smartphone to automatically upload your data to Garmin Connect where you can track your workouts, sleep patterns and join online challenges.
The Forerunner 935 has 24-hour battery life in GPS mode, up to 50 hours in battery saver mode and up to two weeks in regular watch mode.
The device is available now and is priced at $699.
