ECOVACS changes the shape of robot vacuum cleaning with the new DEEBOT X2 OMNI
ECOVACS is literally changing the shape of robot floor cleaning with the new DEEBOT X2 OMNI which was unveiled at the IFA 2023 tech trade show in Berlin.
The biggest change with the DEEBOT X2 OMNI is that the usually round robot vacuum is now square.
ECOVACS says this change has been made to improve the cleaning efficiency when vacuuming and mopping.
It’s also quite compact at 9.5cm high with a width of 32cm so it can in tight spaces like under beds, sofas and other furniture.
One reason is the is so slim is the integration of semi solid-state Lidar which is integrated into the chassis of the unit. This helps the robot navigate your home.
An area that’s been greatly improved is the suction at 8,000pa with 60 per cent more power than the previous model and all the while still managing to have the same low noise level.
Also included with the DEEBOT X2 OMNI is all-in-one auto empty station that can wash the mop pads with 55-degree hot water and dry them again with hot air.
That station also empties the dust container and refills the robot’s tank with clean water. This makes the whole experience a simple hands-off experience.
On the navigation side the DEEBOT X2 OMNI using machine learning to find its way around your home and create an efficient cleaning path.
It has improved 3D mapping technology so the robot can get around your home and remember where the furniture is in each room.
Also onboard is the YIKO 2.0 voice assistant so you can operate the unit just by talking to it.
The DEEBOT X2 OMNI has faster response times and higher detection sensitivity which results in better navigation, planning and positioning.
The DEEBOT X2 OMNI will go on sale in Australia in the coming months with pricing to be announced shortly before the release date.
