Samsung launches its bold 2024 television range that heralds a new AI screen era
Samsung has moved into the AI screen era after unveiling its latest TV range at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas which includes new QLED, OLED and lifestyle displays.
The new line-up introduces a brand new next generation AI processor which enhances the smart TV’s capabilities while also bringing enhanced picture and sound quality.
“We’re proud to showcase an extensive range of audio and visual technologies, all delivering immersive experiences for every type of Australian home,” says Jeremy Senior, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia.
“Our 2024 range is supported by our best-in-class AI technology, surpassing traditional TV functions, empowering Australians with greater personalisation and simplification.
“From our new Neo QLED 8K with enhanced depth and lifelike visuals, to our expertly crafted Micro LED screens, our TV offering is poised to redefine the perception of display, taking the viewing experience to a whole new level.”
SAMSUNG NEO QLED
At the heart of Samsung’s latest neo QLED 8K and 4K TV’s is Samsung’s most innovative TV processor to date – the NQ8 AI Gen3 which offers faster neural processing that its predecessor.
The processor does all the heavy lifting for the impressive AI upscaling so customers can enjoy lower quality content that’s upscaled to near 8K quality.
Other enhancements of the new range include AI Motion Enhancer Pro which smooths out sporting coverage and even detects the sport being played by using deep learning and avoid any type of distortion.
The new Real Depth Enhancer Pro also adds detail to those fast moving scenes using AI to offer even more precise control of the mini-LED backlighting.
It does this by detecting the part of a scene that the human eye would normally focus on and bring it to the foreground.
On the audio side, the Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV has QSymphony which makes it possible to connect multiple wireless speakers and a sound bar to the TV or projector for perfect audio synchronisation whether you’re watching TV shows, movies or listening to music.
The Active Voice Amplifier Pro feature uses a proprietary AI dialogue booster that uses deep learning technology to enhance dialogue and voices on screen and even separate voices from mixed audio to make it even clearer.
Also on board the new Samsung TVs is Audio Subtitle – an on-device feature that utilises AI and optical character recognition (OCR) to provide a voice guide for embedded subtitles in real time.
Samsung has also designed its app for users with visual, auditory or physical disabilities to offer them even more control via their smartphone.
SAMSUNG OLED
Samsung is bolding moving forward with its latest OLED TV’s which improve on last year’s models.
The S95D will offer an ultra large 77-inch size for an even bigger canvas to enjoy the deep and rich blacks with AI-enhanced colour accuracy.
Samsung also introduced the S90D and S85D in a range of screen sizes starting at 42-inch all the way up to a huge 83-inches.
The S95D features high refresh rates of up to 144Hz – ideal for gamers who want to enjoy crisp action and seamless motion.
SAMSUNG LIFESTYLE TVs
Samsung has refreshed its line-up of lifestyle TVs including The Frame, The Serif and The Terrace.
Samsung’s war cry this year is “screens everywhere, screens for all” and these new lifestyle products offer even more customization and personalization than ever before.
The Frame, already one of the most popular lifestyle TVs on the market, now has more than 2500 artworks from world renowned museums and galleries.
The Premiere short throw projector is now available in 8K and is now completely wireless to make it even easier for customers to streamline their living spaces and keep them neat and tidy.
The Premiere has a few new smart features including picture off premium home audio, cloud gaming, always on voice with far field mic and four multiview screen splits.
The Freestyle second generation portable projector includes Smart Edge Blending which allows users to merge the image from two Freestyle devices to create one large screen up to 160-inch.
SAMSUNG SOUNDBARS AND AUDIO
Samsung’s new music frame can either be used as a standalone wireless speaker or linked with a compatible Samsung TV and soundbar via QSymphony to improve the bass and surround sound.
The speaker can easily blend into any environment inside modern picture frames yet still deliver high quality sound.
The new HW-Q990D sound bar offers 11.1.4 channel configuration, Dolby Atmos and pass through of content in 4K 120Hz.
The soundbar uses AI to analyse the audio and optimise the output to match the experience with the type of content you’re watching.
The HWS-800D is a super thin sound bar that measures just 1.6-inches so it could seamlessly fit into any space yet still provide huge immersive sound.
It is just one third the depth of a regular soundbar but still has room for 10 drivers including dedicated overhead speakers and a centre channel for even clearer vocals.
