Breville Oracle Touch produces cafe quality coffee at home
Australians love good coffee and they’re willing to pay good money for it. Breville has just released the Oracle Touch – an automatic espresso machine to make café quality coffee at home.
Breville, the most awarded domestic coffee machine manufacturer, has poured years of design and engineering experience into the impressive new Oracle Touch.
It is an automatic machine but the user does still get involved during the process to produce their favourite brew.
The skills a barista uses when making your coffee in a café are fully automated with the Breville Oracle Touch.
Things like dosing the right amount of coffee and knowing the right temperature of the milk are now at your fingertips.
The Breville Oracle Touch takes up a little bit of bench space at 41cm wide, 38cm deep and 45.5cm high.
The coffee making process starts with the swipe and select screen so you can choose from five café favourites – espresso, long black, latte, flat white and cappuccino.
You can also personalise the coffee strength and milk texture and temperature and save up to eight personalised profiles on the machine.
From here the Oracle Touch goes through the four key elements of café quality coffee making unlike any other coffee machine on the market.
First you start with a dose. This is the amount of coffee that is ground using the built-in coffee grinder – usually between 19g and 22g.
The portafilter is automatically packed and tamped with the right amount of coffee.
Applying the right pressure at the right time is important for a balanced coffee.
The Oracle Touch has nine bar extraction pressure to come up with the best flavour.
Next step is the milk. The machine can generate high pressure steam to create a silky milk texture to finish off your coffee with the right touch.
Users can easily choose their milk temperature which should be around 60 degrees.
And, if you’re confident enough, you can even try your hand at latte art.
After you’re done, the Breville Oracle Touch cleans itself automatically by shooting high pressure steam through the milk wand.
The machine certainly delivers quality coffee that we tasted ourselves.
It delivered full-bodied and balanced flavour with fine micro foam milk bubbles for that silky taste.
Other machines that offer full automation might deliver on the convenience but fall short of taste and quality.
Now what would you expect to pay for a machine of this remarkable quality?
The Breville Oracle Touch is priced at $3,499 and that comes with a unique white glove service where customers are given one-on-one in-home training to use the machine and create excellent coffee.
It’s not cheap, but if you add up the number of coffees you pay for each year, it will pay for itself in no time.
The Breville Oracle Touch’s is available now exclusively at Harvey Norman.
