LG to unveil AI-powered robot that can help around the home and even detect your mood
LG Electronics will be unveiling an AI-powered robot that’s like a smart home speaker on wheels that will go a long way towards realise the company’s “Zero Labour Home” vision.
The LG smart home AI robot, which will be revealed at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, will have a two-legged wheel design so it can easily navigate your home and interact with users verbally or through movements from its articulated leg joints.
The device uses multi-modal AI technology which can recognise voices and images on top of its natural language processing so it can easily understand and communicate with users.
LG calls it the moving smart home hub which can also connect and control your smart home appliances and IoT devices.
It has a built-in camera and speakers along with sensors that can gather real-time environmental data like temperature, humidity and indoor air quality.
The AI agent can also act as a security camera on wheels to keep an eye on your pets and your home when you’re out.
The LG AI agent can also patrol your home and send notifications if it spots an open window or if there have been lights left on.
And when you home the AI robot can even greet you with a virtual smile and even analyse your voice and facial expressions to detect your mood.
“Our groundbreaking smart home AI agent combines cutting-edge autonomous mobility and AI technologies with advanced communication capabilities and services to help free customers from household chores,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company.
“A smart life solution company, LG will continue to help customers experience a smarter, more enjoyable life at home.”
The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show kicks off on January 9 and Tech Guide will be providing daily updates, news reports and videos of all the major announcements.
