Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are thinner and lighter and now powered by Galaxy AI

Samsung has unveiled the latest generation of foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 – that not only elevate the mobile experienced with their unique form factors but also have the powerful Galaxy AI onboard.

Announced at a global launch event in Paris, the new Samsung Galaxy Z series are the slimmest and lightest models Samsung has ever produced while still offering even more power, performance and durability.

Samsung also announced new Galaxy watches and a ranger of upgraded Buds earphones.

The new Samsung products are available for pre-order now and will go on sale on July 31.

Both the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 incorporate a new dual rail hinge structure along with enhanced layers on the main screen to offer added strength.

The devices are constructed with armour aluminium and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

They are powered by a specially made Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy which combines the CPU (central processing unit), GPU (graphics processing unit) and NPU (neural processing unit) performance and optimise it for fast AI processing on the device.

SAMSUNG GALAXY Z FOLD6

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 has a number of AI-powered features that allows users to maximise the large inner screen and enhance their productivity on the move.

The device has a slightly larger 6.3-inch HD+ Dynamic OLED 2X front display and a 7.6 inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display inside.

One AI feature, Note Assist, now part of Samsung notes, includes Translations, Summaries and Auto Formatting as well as the newly embedded transcript feature which allows transcription translation and summary of voice recordings directly in Notes.

A new Composer feature from Samsung keyboard can generate text based on simple keywords for emails, social media posts and comments.

Users can also enjoy an expanded S Pen experience with a new feature called Sketch to Image which takes a simple sketch and turns it into a detailed AI-generated image.

The Galaxy AI features incorporated into the new Galaxy Z Fold6 include Circle to Search for instant search results based on an image while Interpreter takes advantage of the unique dual screen form factor to allow a conversation that both parties can see on the main and cover screens for a natural real time interaction.

Live translate phone calls are also directly translated on the device in real time.

Also on board is the AI powered ProVisual Engine which can offer advanced editing with photo assist on the larger screen to create professional content.

Portrait studio offers several different portrait styles including 3D cartoon or more to expand the creative possibilities.

Instant slo-mo is another feature that allows you to slow a video by generating additional frames.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 is also a compelling gaming device and has a 1.6x larger vapour chamber so you can play longer while maintaining tip top performance.

And thanks to the addition of ray tracing your game graphics are vivid and lifelike on the inside display which has up to 2600 nit brightness.

SAMSUNG GALAXY Z FLIP6

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 offers a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and portability at the same time thanks to its stunning folding form factor.

The outside 3.4-inch Super AMOLED Flex window has been improved with AI-assisted functionality so you can do more without the need to open the device.

Users can instantly reply to the messages with suggested replies that analyses your latest messages to suggest the right response.

Flex Window now has more widgets than ever before so you can check your information and notifications from multiple widgets at the same time.

Customers can also create a unique wallpaper with the AI-powered photo ambient based on the time and the weather.

The Flip6 continues to provide a versatile camera experience with several new creative options including the new Auto Zoom which can provide the best framing for your shot after detecting the subject and making any other necessarily adjustments completely hands free.

Onboard are new 50-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel ultrawide sensors so the camera experience has been dramatically upgraded.

The 50-megapixel sensor offers 2x optical zoom.
