Floorcare brand Tineco’s range of Wet and Dry vacuums will be available at Harvey Norman from today making their home cleaning solutions accessible to a wider range of Aussie shoppers.

The range includes four models, at the top end a new S7 Steam which uses 140 degree steam to make a deep clean on tough stains like sticky or well set spills.

At $1199 it’s a premium product that will be a game-changer for many hard floor homes. Like all the Tineco products it has a self-clean feature to get it ready to use after each use.

A real innovation sits in the Floor One S6 FlashDry which is a strong wet and dry solution but it’s docking base solves one of the core pain points for wet and dry vacuums which is the cleaning of the vacuum itself after each use.

The dock uses 70 degree temps to wash the brush roller for two minutes, then a 70 degree hot air to remove residual water from every component including a dual-direction rotation of the brush to make it dry so there’s no moisture, no smell – just a vacuum ready to use again.

Down the lineup is the Floor One S5 Extreme which has a brush that goes right to the edge for a strong corner clean, and the entry level iFloor 2 which is lightweight but still a one click auto-clean of the brush roller after use.

All four models are at Harvey Norman with the Tineco Floor One S6 Flashdry priced at $899, the top of the range Tineco Floor One S7 Steam $1199 the Tineco Floor One S5 Extreme priced at $749 and the Tineco iFloor 2 just $399.

Have you ever walked into a commercial space and immediately noticed how clean and tidy it is? Cleanliness in commercial spaces goes beyond just maintaining appearances. It’s important for health, safety, and efficiency.

For business owners and facility managers in Australia, maintaining a clean environment in the commercial facility is a top priority. However, one of the biggest challenges they face is making sure that their commercial cleaning equipment is always working in top condition.

If you want to keep your commercial space spotless, it is important to have reliable cleaning equipment. But did you know that regularly maintaining your commercial cleaning equipment can greatly affect its performance and lifespan?

In this article, we’ll dive into why regular maintenance of commercial cleaning equipment in Australia is so important.

The Importance of Regular Maintenance

  • Securing Efficiency and Performance

When you take the time to regularly check and service your equipment, it runs more smoothly and effectively. This means your cleaning is done faster and with better results.

For example, imagine you have a commercial floor scrubber. If you regularly clean and replace its brushes and pads, the scrubber will clean floors more thoroughly and efficiently.

On the other hand, if you neglect these simple maintenance tasks, the scrubber might leave dirt behind or even damage the floor.

  • Prolonging Equipment Lifespan

Regular maintenance of commercial cleaning equipment in Australia will increase its lifespan. By taking care of your equipment, you can avoid sudden wear and tear.

For instance, if you have a commercial vacuum cleaner, regularly checking and replacing the filters and belts can prevent the motor from overworking and breaking down.

Cost-Effectiveness:

  • Reducing Repair Costs

When you routinely check your equipment, you can spot potential problems early and fix them right away, which helps avoid expensive repairs down the line.

For example, a common issue with floor scrubbers is the wear and tear on brushes. If you regularly inspect and replace worn brushes, you can avert damage to the motor and other parts of the machine. This maintenance task can save you from a hefty repair bill or even the cost of a new machine.

  • Maximising Return on Investment

Investing in regular maintenance ensures that your commercial cleaning equipment continues to provide value over time. By keeping your equipment in top shape, you make sure it works efficiently for as long as possible, giving you the best return on your investment.

For instance, let’s say you spend a small amount each month on maintenance for your equipment. Over the years, this helps you avoid major breakdowns and costly replacements.

A cost-benefit analysis might show that spending $100 a year on maintenance can save you from a $1,000 repair bill or the $5,000 cost of replacing a machine.

In the long run, regular maintenance is a cost-effective strategy that helps you get the most out of your commercial cleaning equipment.

Improving Cleaning Quality

  • Consistent Cleaning Standards

Well-maintained commercial cleaning equipment makes sure that the cleaning is top notch. When your equipment is in good condition, it works more effectively, providing a thorough and reliable clean every time.

This means that whether you are cleaning floors, carpets, or surfaces, the results are always up to the highest standards, reflecting well on your business.

  • Preventing Contamination

Maintaining and regularly cleaning your commercial cleaning equipment is essential in preventing cross-contamination. Clean equipment means that dirt, bacteria, and other contaminants are not spread from one area to another, which is especially important in industries like healthcare and food service.

For example, in a hospital, using a well-maintained floor scrubber with clean brushes can prevent the spread of harmful bacteria from one patient room to another.

Similarly, in a restaurant, a clean and well-serviced vacuum cleaner ensures that food particles and debris are effectively removed without spreading germs.

Steps to Implement a Maintenance Routine

Creating a Maintenance Plan

A regular maintenance timetable is important for keeping your commercial cleaning equipment in top condition.

Start by identifying the specific maintenance needs of each piece of equipment.

Here’s a sample maintenance schedule:

  • Daily: Empty vacuum bags, clean brushes, and wipe down equipment.
  • Weekly: Check and clean filters, inspect power cords, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Monthly: Replace worn brushes and pads, inspect belts, and deep clean the equipment.
  • Quarterly: Inspect all parts thoroughly, including motors and electrical components.

Closing Thoughts

By implementing a maintenance routine, you can save money on repairs, maintain high cleaning standards, and keep your equipment running smoothly

Start today by creating a simple maintenance schedule, training your staff, and considering professional maintenance services.

Remember, regular maintenance will protect your investment and provide a cleaner, safer environment for everyone.

Belkin has launched a new range of surge protection power boards which can give customers peace of mind knowing their expensive appliances and electronics are protected.

The new line up was engineered in Australia by the local Belkin team to make sure it meets the needs of local customers.

Starting at $34.95, the Belkin Surge Protection products are available in one, four, six and eight outlet options with the surge protection range up to 1800 joules.

They also incorporate fast-charging dual USB-C power delivery ports and MOV (metal oxide varistors), six or 11 point safety systems and all housed in a durable yet elegant white design.

Belkin is so confident of the quality of its surge protection products it even offers a Connected Equipment Warranty (CEW) which goes way a lot further than a regular warranty.

The CEW covers customers in the event of damage by electrical surges or lightning strikes while connected to a Belkin surge protector to a value of up to $70,000.

Each product also comes with a two year warranty along with CEW.

“Surge Protection is one of our most important categories in this region,” said Jamie Laing-Reece, Head of Product Management, Belkin ANZ.

“We know that Australian and New Zealand consumers want their key home technology to be protected, and it’s now more important than ever with the cost of connected devices on the rise.

“Storms can be wild and unpredictable, so it’s vital that consumers can rely on a brand like ours for enhanced protection and peace of mind.”

ECOVACS ROBOTICS is offering a new Aldi Special Buy next week – the DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS robotic vacuum and mop which includes an auto empty station for true hands-free cleaning.

It will be priced at $499, half the usual recommended retail price, from June 19.

It will be the first time ECOVACS has offered a robotic vacuum with an auto empty station at Aldi.

The DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS has 5000Pa suction and a 5200mAh battery that offers three hours of runtime so it can clean 370 square metres on a single charge.

And when it is time to charge, it returns to the auto empty station where the dust and debris from the robot will be uploaded to a 5L dust bag.

Of course the DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS can vacuum and mop at the same time depending on the surface so it’s ideal for those customers looking to buy their first robot vacuum or those looking to add a second to a multi-level home.

Under the hood is the SmartNavi 3.0 laser mapping and navigation system and can also be controlled with Google Home or Amazon Alexa smart home assistants.

The unit could also be controlled using the ECOVACS home app

“We are proud to be able to deliver such an incredible product for under $500 at a time when Australians are balancing cost of living pressures against a desire to own a feature-rich robotic vacuum cleaner,” said Karen Powell, Regional Director, ECOVACS ANZ.

“The new DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS delivers strong improvements across the board as we evolve our NEO range. We know that many Australians have been waiting for an auto-empty station to arrive to the ALDI Special Buys aisle and we have delivered this alongside incredible suction and run time among many other benefits that reinforce our goal to make home robotics as accessible as possible.

A spokesperson for ALDI Australia said: “We’re excited for the arrival of the ECOVACS DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS to ALDI’s Special Buys aisle.

“The new product is packed with innovation, including an auto-empty station, and offers a wide array of convenient functions, all for the incredible ALDI price of just $499.

“It’s the perfect choice for customers seeking to streamline their cleaning routine and reclaim valuable time in their day.”

The DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS will go sale at Aldi as part of the Special Buys on June 19 for $499.

Key Features At A Glance:

– Compact Auto-Empty Station: With its large 5L dust bag, the auto empty station enables the robot to empty its dust and debris into the station without you needing to lift a finger. And at only 27cm high, it allows for easy placement in various furniture spaces for convenient storage.

– 5000Pa suction power: Unleash superior cleanliness with the 5000Pa suction power unrivalled within its price range, perfect for homes with pets and children.

– 180 minutes of runtime: Power up your cleaning routine with our 5200mAh battery, ensuring an impressive 180-minute cleaning experience.

– Automatic charging and continuous cleaning: Long cleaning times are no problems for the DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS. If the battery is low, it automatically returns to the auto empty station. As soon as it is fully charged, it continues cleaning the floor where it left off.

– Automatic Carpet Recognition: With its ultrasonic sensors, DEEBOT NEO 2.0 PLUS navigates around carpets during mopping to avoid making them wet and boosts suction in the single-sweep mode for effective dust removal from carpet crevices.

– Fast and Accurate Mapping: the Smart Navi 3.0 LDS laser navigation system continuously scans the home environment, and updates maps in real time despite environmental changes. If the robot is moved, it can also relocate itself to avoid getting lost or missed spaces.

– Mapping of several levels: Scan and store multiple maps of different floors of your home. The robot will customise its cleaning path once identifying which map it is in. You can also customise which room you’d like the robot to clean in sequence on each floor.

– App control: You can use the app to conveniently control your robot from any situation and schedule a cleaning time or check the current cleaning status. Maps can be stored and individually adapted – with functions including Virtual Boundary, which limits the robotic vacuum cleaner’s operating area.

– Customised Cleaning: customise specific suction power, water flow and cleaning sequences for each room in the home.

– Smart Home Device Compatibility: Experience convenient, hands-off controls via Google Home or Amazon Echo – simply link your smart home devices to your robot.

– Stress free updates: The intuitive robot manages its own updates using ‘Over The Air’ technology. You can just update your APP to get the functions optimised and extended.

– High Efficiency Air Filter: Breathe easy while your robot cleans. With its High Efficiency Filter, your robot will reduce airborne triggers while vacuuming.

The new DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI Is available now and is priced at $1799.

This unit builds on the already impressive catalogue of features including advanced mapping, navigation, mop riser, runtime and introduces the new TruEdge cleaning and Anti-Tangle technology.

The self-cleaning station is also 30 per cent smaller than previous models and the robot vacuum itself offers ECOVACS’ strongest ever robotic vacuum suction at 11,000Pa – one of the strongest in the market.

ECOVACS has taken on board customer feedback to improve the product across all areas to make it easy to use and more intuitive both in the robot unit itself and within the companion app.

In the ten months since the previous model was launched, ECOVACS has come up with 10 new innovations.

  1. TRUE EDGE ADAPTIVE MOPPING

The DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI maintains the usual round robot shape but now includes an advanced and adaptive extendable mopping arm.

Utilising the new TruEdge adaptive edge mopping technology, the T30 PRO OMNI can now reach areas which were neglected by other robot vacuums including edges, corners and around table and chair legs.

The extendable mopping arm has several degrees of extension to adapt to the cleaning situation.

  1. MINI OMNI STATION

ECOVACS has redesigned 90 per cent of the components from its previous Omni station to reduce the size by 30 per cent and allow it to fit into tighter spaces and under counters.

One of the biggest changes is the open water tank design which at 42cm high only requires 60cm of clearance to remove refill and replace the tanks in the station.

It also has a front opening maintenance design to access it easily no matter where it’s located.

The station also cleans the mop pads by washing them with 90-degree Celsius water and drying them with 45-degree Celsius hot air.

The mini Omni station only needs to be cleaned itself every 150 days making it a truly hands off cleaning system.

  1. ZERO TANGLE TECHNOLOGY

The DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI offers improved cleaning performance with zero-tangle Anti-Tangle technology that uses specially designed roller brushes with dual comb teeth arrays to reduce hair entanglement.

This three step process offers up to 99.4 per cent cleaning efficiency with a specially designed V-shaped roller brush doing most of the heavy lifting.

  1. STRONGEST EVER SUCTION

The DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI offers 11,000 PA suction, a result of the powerful new high speed motor, to provide the ultimate cleaning performance.

This is an 80 per cent improvement when compared to the suction power of the previous model.

  1. PLACE AND SWEEP – SPOT CLEANING

Another new feature to help you tackle unexpected messes and spills is the new Spot Cleaning button.

With a single press, the user simply places the DEEBOT in the affected area and it will clean a 1.5m by 1.5m area to address dirt and spills and any other spaces that need a fast cleanup.

  1. FOOT TOUCH CONTROL

Foot Touch Control is a direct response to consumer feedback with the cleaning cycle now able to be activated with a simple foot press on the DEEBOT’s front bumper.

This gentle push can also resume the cleaning programme if it has been paused.

  1. INTELLIGENT MOPPING

The DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI has an intelligent mopping feature which can detect different levels of dirt during cleaning.

The robot’s cleaning strategies are then adapted based on the level of dirt present and you end up with a clean and hygienic home.

  1. 9MM AUTO-LIFTING MOPPING

Customers concerned about having a vacuum and mop in the same unit can relax knowing that they will never ever have damp carpets thanks to the Auto Lift mops which are raised to 9mm – that’s 4mm higher than the previous model – to prevent cross contamination and to keep carpets and hard floors dry and clean after DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI has completed its cleaning cycle.

  1. PHONE WIDGETS AND APPLE WATCH SUPPORT

The new ECOVACS home widget provides a shortcut to whole home cleaning and return to charge commands right from your iPhone’s home screen.

This new feature takes advantage of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island feature and gives you a status update at a glance as well as intuitive controls to pause, resume and return the unit to the station.

The DEEBOT can now also be connected to the ECOVACS Home app on their Apple Watch so they can monitor and execute basic controls right from their wrist.

  1. BLUETOOTH QUICK PAIRING

Set up of the DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI has also been made even easier thanks to Bluetooth Quick Pairing which eliminates the need to switch between devices and get you up and running even faster.

These 10 new features on the DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI build on the existing and market leading ECOVACS technology.

These include:

TrueDetect 3.0 – Precision Cleaning, Obstacle-Free: Imagine a robot that anticipates users’ every move, gracefully navigating around furniture and obstacles like a seasoned professional. That’s the power of TrueDetect 3.0. This advanced system utilises real-time scanning and sophisticated algorithms to map users’ homes, creating precise cleaning paths. With millimetre-level accuracy, obstacles become a non-issue.

TrueMapping 2.0 – Mapping Made Easy, Cleaning Optimised: Forget tedious mapping sessions and say goodbye to manual adjustments. TrueMapping 2.0automatically creates high-resolution 2D and 3D maps of homes in 6 minutes, even adapting to complex layouts and furniture arrangements. This means the DEEBOT remembers every corner, ensuring efficient and targeted cleaning no matter the configuration of the spaces.

Intelligent Housekeeper Mode – Personalised, Effortless Cleaning: The robots adapt their cleaning to users’ specific needs and preferences with the Intelligent Housekeeper Mode. This innovative feature learns user habits and adjusts cleaning parameters like frequency, suction power, and water volume to deliver the perfect clean every time. No more manual adjustments— let the DEEBOT take care of the thinking while users enjoy a spotless home.

Voice Control Redefined, Cleaning Simplified: YIKO makes it easier to control the DEEBOT with just voice! This advanced voice assistant understands users’ commands, translates them into actions, and responds with helpful feedback. ECOVACS launched YIKO as the industry’s first natural language and interactive assistant in 2022, and it has since been further enhanced with features such as two-way communication, offline processing, task adjustments and more. These features offer an immersive cleaning experience and improve the DEEBOT’s ability to understand and respond to user commands, serving as an intelligent housekeeper. By simply saying “OK YIKO”, cleaning becomes even more convenient and effortless.

Dyson has re-invented the mop with its first dedicated wet floor cleaner – the Dyson WashG1 – which brings its trademark engineering and development to make it even easier and hygienic to clean up messy spills.

The Dyson WashG1 features the company’s latest floorcare technology to pick up wet and dry debris in a single sweep on hard floors.

On board is a one litre clean water tank to cover up to 290 square metres so the Dyson WashG1 can use hydration, absorption and extraction technologies to remove and separate debris at the same time to ensure easier maintenance and hygiene.

“Most of us vacuum our homes regularly. But whilst wet cleaning is considered a necessary chore globally, many of us don’t know why we do it beyond the vague notion of hygiene, says Charlie Park Vice President of New Product Development, Dyson Home.

“In fact, cleaning with water is essential to rehydrate and remove tough, dried-on stains.

“Over the years, a vast array of wet floor cleaning formats have emerged to help us tackle this chore yet users’ expectations are often left unfulfilled when it comes to stain removal, pick-up performance and floor finish.

“Dyson engineers solve the problems others ignore and we thrive on the challenge of creating better technology.

“The Dyson WashG1 is the result of this; our first dedicated wet machine to wash hard floors, properly and hygienically.”

The Dyson WashG1 uses two highly absorbent microfiber filament rollers which counter rotate while pulse modulated pump sprays water evenly across 26 hydration points along the full width of each roller.

The combination of the high density microfibre and the steady flow of clean water ensures liquid spills are absorbed while dry dirt, debris and hair are caught in the filaments.

Dyson engineers deliberately position the two rollers at opposite ends of the machine to create a longer dwell time on stains with each pass of the unit for faster stain removal.

Under the hood is Dyson’s unique technology which can separate debris and dirty water to provide a hygienic no touch disposal.

The dirty water is extracted from the rollers while a secondary nylon-bristled inner brush bars remove the dirt and debris from the rollers and flick it into a removable debris tray.

This tray is built with a 500 micron mesh to separate the dirty water from the larger debris before the dirty water is collected in a 0.8 litre capacity tank.

Both water tanks have been designed with larger openings to make it easy to maintain and clean.

Users can select the level of hydration required based on the type of debris and the type of flooring.

The Dyson WashG1 allows for easy manoeuvrability and edge to edge cleaning thanks to the two motors that sit within each roller and spin in opposite directions.

This product inherits technology from the Dyson Omni Glide with casters that provide better balance and weight support while the low cleaner head height makes it easy to reach underneath furniture.

The new Dyson WashG1 wet floor cleaner is available for pre order now and it will be priced at $999.

Customers who purchase through Dyson Direct will receive an additional set of rollers with every unit purchased.

To purchase or to learn more go to the Dyson site.

Not too long ago, most households equipped with air conditioning could only use it to cool spaces during summer, relying on separate gas or electric heaters in the colder months.

Fortunately, technological advancements over the past three decades have significantly boosted the presence of reverse cycle air conditioners in the HVAC industry, offering substantial benefits to homeowners in Australia.

A reverse cycle air conditioner efficiently cools your home during the summer and provides warmth in the winter, all through a single, energy-efficient system. This simplicity makes it an exceptionally effective method for heating your home using electricity.

Now, you might wonder what other advantages these reverse cycle units have. Let’s explore in more detail.

The Many Benefits of Reverse Cycle Air Conditioners

1)   Energy Efficiency

A reverse cycle air conditioner is among the most energy-efficient types. It generally uses less energy than other air conditioners, which means lower electricity costs.

These modern reverse cycle systems are highly advanced and cost-effective, making them a popular choice for large households that need consistent heating and cooling all year round.

2)   Keeps Your Home Warm During Winters

Unlike conventional gas or portable electric heaters, which generate heat, a reverse cycle air conditioner absorbs heat from the outside air to warm your home, making it more energy efficient.

To explain, refrigerant circulates through an external coil, capturing heat from the air outside. This refrigerant is then compressed and moved through a fan coil inside the house, releasing heat into the room. Remarkably, the system can do this even in freezing conditions.

A reliable reverse-cycle air conditioner is designed to perform in cold weather. It includes an automatic defrost cycle to ensure efficient operation. Therefore, even when temperatures drop low, your reverse-cycle air conditioner can effectively heat your home.

3)   Cost Effective

The primary benefit of a reverse cycle air conditioning system is its cost-effectiveness in terms of electricity usage. This system absorbs heat from the outside air rather than generating heat by burning fuel like gas or electric heaters do. And using freely available natural air beats and any type of fuel!

Moreover, reverse cycle air conditioners are highly energy-efficient for both cooling and heating, even in extreme temperatures. They also recycle the air over a dozen times per hour, so they use less energy than expected.

4)   Good for Zoning

Zoning refers to individualised climate control and is crucial because each room in a house may need a specific temperature. The zoning capabilities of reverse cycle air conditioners enable you to activate air conditioning in select areas based on your needs.

For instance, you can heat or cool high-traffic areas like the living room during the day and then switch to conditioning the bedrooms at night.

This feature also allows you to maintain different temperatures in various parts of your home, providing optimal climate control. It’s ideal for accommodating family members who prefer different levels of warmth or coolness!

5)   Quieter Operation

Many people prefer air conditioners that operate quietly. Reverse cycle air conditioning systems are very popular for being quieter than other types of air conditioners.

It makes them suitable for households with small children or for those who wish to avoid disturbing neighbours or guests. Modern reverse cycle air conditioners are designed to minimise operational noise, as excessive noise can decrease comfort and lead to customer dissatisfaction over time.

6)   Durable and Long Lasting

Reverse cycle air conditioners typically have a lifespan of up to 20 years, which can be extended through regular servicing, cleaning, and routine maintenance.

It offers not only comfort, space efficiency, and ease of use but also allows you to enjoy air at your preferred temperature throughout your home.

Final Words:

Reverse cycle air conditioners offer year-round comfort, seamlessly switching between heating and cooling to suit any season. If you’re thinking about upgrading or installing a new system, reaching out to your nearest distributor is a great way to get personalised advice and start enjoying perfect indoor temperatures all year long.

Dyson has launched the new software update called CleanTrace which makes it possible for Dyson users to visualise their cleaning paths in real time using their smartphones and Augmented Reality.

The company has also released a new phone clamp which can attach your smartphone to the Dyson vacuum wand and, through the phones camera, can see the clean path.

Dyson’s extensive research has shown that not everyone has the same thoroughness when it comes to vacuuming and areas are often missed.

But at the same time, the study shows that we also clean the same spot repeatedly which reduces their efficiency and wastes valuable time.

By using CleanTrace to visualise your cleaning paths in real time with AR, the user can see where they’ve cleaned and the spots that need attention.

CleanTrace works by recognising the shape of the vacuum’s cleaner head and the motor tone when it’s turned on.

CleanTrace unites several technologies including LIDAR from the user’s smartphone which helps create a map of the room and overlays a cleaning pathway using augmented reality.

The software was inspired by the Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum cleaner which knows where it is in your home it also knows where it’s cleaned and where it still needs to go.

“We realised that we could all learn a thing or two from the methodical cleaning approach of our robot vacuums,” says Charlie Park – VP of Engineering, Dyson Home.

“Unlike most humans doing the cleaning, Dyson robots know where they are in the room, where they have been, and where they have yet to go.

“With the Dyson CleanTrace, we add this extra layer of cleaning intelligence to the Gen5detect vacuum. It gives you the ability to see where you have and haven’t cleaned, which, combined with our on-board particle sensing technology, gives proof that the floor is truly clean.”

After you’ve finish cleaning the owner can remove the phone from the clamp and then scan the whole room to check that you’ve done a good job.

The CleanTrace software update can be accessed through the MyDyson app.

The Easy Clamp system attaches to the Dyson Gen5detect vacuum, the company’s most advanced vacuum cleaner, and the app is compatible with Apple iPhone 12 and later.

The kitchen has become the latest room in Australian homes that’s getting even smarter and driven even further by AI according to research carried out by Samsung.

Samsung’s Cooking Research Report reveals 60 per cent want to smarten up their home with AI-powered kitchen appliances.

The report coincides with the launch of Samsung Cooking – the company’s first connected smart kitchen which includes an impressive line-up of new appliances with AI onboard to make cooking even smarter.

The research showed that time poor Australians a spending up to $4,000 a year on takeaway lunches during the working week despite cost of living pressures.

This move is more for convenience but still does come at a cost, but respondents revealed they want to make cooking easier and more efficient with 93 per cent willing to use AI for their meal planning and preparation.

The kitchen is an ideal example of the challenges Australians are facing today – they have less time to prepare meals and are frustrated with the time it takes to cook multiple dishes at the same time.

The new Samsung range includes the Oven Flex Door which allows users to cook two meals separately at the same time and also check on their progress remotely through a built in camera.

The latest Samsung Family Hub refrigerators Can even detect and catalogue of all the food placed inside using an AI camera

“Samsung has been investing in AI for more than a decade, and it is something we see come to life in our connected appliances,” says Jeremy Senior, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia.

“It is no secret that many Australians today are time poor, which is reflected in these findings and their focus on convenience over cooking at home.

“Our built-in cooking range is the latest addition in Samsung’s AI connected-home ecosystem, and through the power of Samsung’s innovative technology and AI, we are excited to provide home chefs of all levels with innovative technology that combats the pain points faced in the kitchen.

“The robust new smart cooking line-up from Samsung includes ovens, cooktops, rangehoods and dishwashers, all with innovative new tech solutions, inspired by the rapidly growing adoption of AI in the home.”

The other barrier for cooking apart from time pressures of everyday life is also a lack of inspiration and ideas when planning meals according to 43 per cent of respondents.

The other roadblock, says 42 per cent, is not having the right ingredients.

More than half (53 per cent) of Australians agree they could benefit from an AI-powered device in their home and that it would be of most use to them in the kitchen.

The new Samsung built-in cooking range works hand in hand with the Samsung Food App which can recommend recipes for busy households and meet all dietary preferences.

Another reason behind the interest in bringing AI into practise it to also reduce food waste according to 46 per cent of those surveyed.

Australians see the introduction of AI as a positive change and 60 per cent are willing to invest in AI kitchen appliances in the next few years.

The whole range is optimised with Samsung SmartThings app which lets you monitor and control smart home products including the new Samsung built-in cooking range.

Key technology included in the Samsung Built in Cooking Range includes:

– Wi-Fi Connected: Allowing Australians to remotely monitor and control their oven, cooktop, and range hood from their smartphone – whether it be to pre-heat on the way home, through to auto-cook settings from the comfort of their couch.

– AI Pro Cooking: With a built-in AI camera, end-to-end professional quality cooking will be made easy, fun, and shareable. Without needing to open the oven door, cooking can be optimised through recipe selection, and post-cook highlight videos created to share with friends or across social media.

– Dual Cook Flex: Some oven models will include two compartments that can be set to two different temperatures, as well as when multi-cooking a flexible door means one zone can be checked without interrupting the other – providing both time and energy efficiencies (when only using the top half).

– Samsung Food: A personalised, AI-powered food and recipe app, to support Australians plan their weekly meals. Samsung Food offers more than 160,000 recipes, acting as a personal assistant that helps Australians discover new dishes, create tailored meal plans and order ingredients online. The service also helps users control their cooking appliances and access guided cooking experiences.

The new Samsung built-in cooking range is available now to buy from samsung.com/AU and from retail partners including Harvey Norman and The Good Guys.

“This time-saving product has been incredibly popular with customers and those who missed out the last time it was available in the middle aisle will be thrilled to have another chance to get their hands on this top of the range vacuum at the low ALDI price of just $399.”

ECOVACS has put together ways Aldi customers who purchase DEEBOT NEO can put the device to good use to save them time and effort.

If you have a dog or a cat or several pets, the DEEBOT NEO’s 2,600Pa suction power can keep your floors clear of pet hair.

The robot vacuum goes out every day and vacuums your carpets and mops your floors before returning to the charging station to recharge the internal battery.

HELPFUL FOR THE ELDERLY

Cleaning is not as easy when you get old and if you have reduced mobility it’s near impossible.

This is where the DEEBOT NEO comes in. It can do the cleaning for you and it can all be controlled from the companion app on your smartphone.

All you need to do is empty the dusty bin and change the water.

If you live in a multi-storey home, you can add a second robot vacuum at this reduced price to ensure the rest of the house stays clean.

Or you can buy two if there is still stock available at Aldi and have one for upstairs and one for downstairs.

– Smart Home Device Compatibility: Experience convenient, hands-off controls via Google Home or Amazon Echo – simply link your smart home devices to your robot.

Ever wished AI could help you take the guesswork out of cooking a perfect steak. That wish has now been granted with the Perfecta – the world’s first AI-powered cooker grill.

And not only is it smart – it’s also fast. You can cook a steak to perfection in less than two minutes.

Perfecta uses vertical burners which can cook at 900-degrees Celsius and, when a cut of meat is inserted, it measures the shape and thickness and uses dual sided cooking so there is no flipping required.

Whether you like your meat rare or well done, the Perfecta can deliver the right doneness (that is actually a word!) each time.

Perfecta also works with chicken, pork, burgers and fish and you can even cook a pizza.

It’s all fully automated – and eliminates the risk of overcooking and undercooking.

Perfecta has been optimised to deliver the right condition for the Maillard reaction which is a chemical reaction between proteins and sugars that gives cooked meat it flavour.

And the result is perfect sear on the outside, the desired doneness on the inside and the right level of moisture retention.

Perfecta is available to purchase now from seergrills.com

Samsung reveals its goal of improving people’s lives using AI insights and partnerships https://www.techguide.com.au/news/televisions-news/samsung-reveals-its-goal-of-improving-peoples-lives-using-ai-insights-and-partnerships/ Wed, 10 Jan 2024 04:45:42 +0000 https://www.techguide.com.au/?p=131344

Samsung has shared its plans and insights for AI at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and unveiled AI-enabled visual display products, digital appliances and the upgraded Ballie rolling AI robot.

But Samsung was very quick to point out – they’re not coming late to the party with AI – they’ve already invested more than a decade of time and energy into the technology.

Samsung says AI will enable connected technologies to improve people’s daily lives but will stay in the background.

“With the emergence of artificial intelligence, smarter, better experiences will redefine how we live,” Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division said.

“Samsung’s broad portfolio of powerful devices, along with the pursuit of open collaboration, will help bring AI and hyper-connectivity to all.”

Samsung re-introduced Ballie a rolling robot that was first introduced in 2020.

Today Ballie has evolved into an AI companion that can interact with other smart devices and offer customised tasks and services.

Ballie is also equipped with a short throw and long throw projector to display content as well.

Samsung’s new 2024 Neo QLED TVs are powered by a new NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor to make upscaling to 8K quality even better and faster.

But AI isn’t just restricted to TVs. Samsung is deploying AI into its appliances as well starting with the Bespoke 4-Foor Flex refrigerator with AI Family Hub.

This refrigerator has a 32-inch screen but also includes the new AI Vision Inside which uses internal cameras to recognise up to 33 different food items as you’re putting them in or taking them out of the fridge.

And with this information, the refrigerator can suggest recipes based on the ingredients inside.

The Samsung Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is an all in one washer and dryer featuring the AI Hub – a 7-inch display that is the control centre for managing your laundry.

It can also remember users habits via machine learning and suggest cycles that will save you time, water and energy.

Samsung’s new bespoke Jet Bot Combo also employs AI to offer an effective cleaning experience thanks to AI object recognition which can distinguish even more objects as well as detecting stains and spaces.

This also means the robot vacuum can recognise the type of floor it encounters and the length of carpet and adjust its settings to match.

SmartThings is at the centre of Samsung’s connected home vision.

Samsung has partnered with Tesla

Spatial AI will now help connected devices recognise the living space and routines of the user to come up with a more personalised home management experience.

SmartThings uses LIDAR on connected devices like robot vacuum cleaners and create digital floor plans to easily check the status and location of all your devices.

In March, SmartThings will roll out the upgraded 3D map view for a more detailed experience on Samsung smartphones and TV’s.

And if you want to add more family members and friends to your SmartThings ecosystem, they simply have to scan a QR code so that they can have their own routines recognised.

On the sustainability side, Samsung is also ramping up its efforts and partnering with other companies to help customers live more responsibly.

A new feature called SmartThings AI energy mode utilises AI to help track your energy usage and create ways to help you save and optimise your power.

Part of the SmartThings energy strategy is partnering with Tesla to connect products like Powerwall home batteries and electric vehicles along with solar inverters and wall connector EV charging solutions.

Samsung has also partnered with Hyundai

This collaboration will be able to help customers in numerous ways and help drive more responsible energy usage and extend the usage time of any backup energy stored in the Tesla powerwalls.

Samsung is also bringing the home and the car closer together with a few new home-to-car capabilities.

Samsung has also partnered with Hyundai Motor group with both parties having access to home to car and car to home services thanks to the smart things connectivity.

“Using Hyundai Motor Group’s software-defined vehicle, SmartThings will now work with Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles through the app,” Haeyoung Kwon, Head of Infotainment Development Center and SDV Execution Sub-Division at Hyundai Motor Group

 said.

“All of us at Hyundai Motor Group appreciate our partnership with Samsung, and we’re excited about the new features we’re bringing to your vehicles through smarter connectivity.”

Using SmartThings, users will be able to use their voice to remotely perform functions in their car including heating it up in advance or opening and closing windows.

The SmartThings connectivity can also work the other way with users able to manage and control home functions from their car.

Samsung has deepened its longstanding partnership with Harman to transform the way users experience driving.

“Samsung’s leadership in consumer technology — together with HARMAN’s automotive expertise — has opened the door to game-changing experiences like HARMAN Ready Care, Ready Vision and Ready Display,” Michelle Gattuso, Vice President of Product Management at HARMAN said.

“But now, the work we do with Samsung is getting even more integrated. Samsung and HARMAN are working in lockstep to bring even more impactful experiences to the entire in-cabin ecosystem.”
