Amazon unveils the latest version of the Echo Show 5 smart display

Amazon has unveiled the latest version of the popular Echo Show 5 – the smart device with a 5-inch display that’s powered by Alexa.

This is the third generation of the Echo Show 5 and it now includes a completely re-engineered microphone array and a faster AZ2 Neural Edge processor.

The unit also has an improved speaker system to deliver higher quality audio when listening to music, podcasts, Audible books or watching videos.

The latest Echo Show 5 also supports Matter – the new platform that makes it easier to connect and control compatible smart home products no matter the brand into your home setup.

Customers will also have full control over their privacy and the Alexa experience with a manual off button for the microphone and camera, a built-in camera shutter and the ability to easily delete all your voice recordings.

Echo Show 5 is made from 100 per cent post-consumer recycled polyester yarn and 100 per cent recycled aluminium with the devices packaging made of 99 per cent wood fibre based materials from managed forests or recycled sources.

Echo Show 5 (third gen) is available to pre-order now at amazon.com.au/echoshow5 and in leading retailers from July 10.

It will be available in three colours – black, white and cloud blue and will be priced at $169.
