Action camera brand GoPro has announced two cameras which are a big leap forward for their range and their content creator community.

The GoPro HERO is a new smaller GoPro, the smallest GoPro ever with a screen, while the flagship HERO13 Black has all new capabilities that are bound to get attention.

GoPro founder Nicholas Woodman says “This year’s two new GoPro cameras are inspired by and built for the GoPro Community,”

“HERO13 Black features four new interchangeable lens mods that HERO13 automatically detects and adjusts its settings for, magnetic latch mounting, GPS, and a more powerful battery that provides longer runtimes and improved thermal performance. And then there’s HERO, the smallest, lightest 4K GoPro ever with a screen that will appeal to new and experienced users with its rugged, ultralight design and impressive 4K image quality.”

The flagship device, HERO13 Black offers a stunning short burst slowmotion mode offering up to 400 frames per second, along with a larger battery and WiFi 6 image transfer.

But it’s the new mounting options and lens mods that will be most desirable.

Built-in to the GoPro HERO13 Black are the traditional two finger mounts for a strong durable connection, while there’s also a new snap-on Magnetic latch attachment for easy switching from mount to mount.  Finally there’s also a thread mount for traditional tripod and other mounts where normal cameras might sit.

For those looking to expand the capabilities of the GoPro HERO13 Black, the new HB-Series lenses allows a quick twist off and change to the lens.

You can choose from an Ultra-Wide lens, Macro lens with focus ring, a soon to be released Anamorphic lens or the 4-pack of ND Filters which will give you a cinematic motion blur in any conditions, the camera automatically adjusting the settings to suit.

HERO13 Black starts at $649.95 and goes on Sale September 10.

For a simpler, smaller GoPro, the new HERO is the go-to.

At just $349 it’s more affordable and it’s tiny!  About the size of an Apple Airpods case, but with a screen.

While it’s not as small as the Hero5 Session from back in the day, it’s the smallest GoPro ever with a screen.  It weighs just 86 grams!

That one goes on sale September 22.

The GH series is in response to the demand for portable, yet high-quality video cameras and it has delivered once again with world first technologies.

– Enables proxy recording for workflow efficiency and supports native Camera to Cloud integration with Adobe’s Frame.io, enabling images and videos to be automatically uploaded, backed up, shared, and worked on jointly via the cloud.

It is also possible to store the LUT package for 709 conversion (ARRI Look Library LogC3 to Rec709 3D-LUTs) in the LUT Library of the LUMIX GH7 and combine it with the REAL TIME LUT function to capture videos with ARRI LUTs straight out of the camera.

– Using the ARRI Look Library (log-to-log), you can colour grade videos recorded with ARRI LogC3 and apply the desired ARRI Look within the log space. Additionally, by using the LUT package (ARRI_LogC3_v1-2_LUT_Package) you can convert the colour space of various display devices, allowing you to output the ARRI Look according to the desired colour space in SDR and HDR.

– The LUMIX GH7 can easily match colours in shooting situations where cinema cameras, such as the ARRI ALEXA Mini, are used as the main camera. Furthermore, when DMW-SFU3A is installed, ARRI LogC3 in the LUMIX GH7 employs a curve that conforms to the standard sensitivity of ISO 800 of the ARRI camera. As the gamma curve does not change depending on the ISO sensitivity, users can use the same editing workflow no matter which ISO they shoot at. It also enables recording at ISO Auto, which is unique to mirrorless cameras.

– ARRI LogC3 recording can also be used on the LUMIX GH6 in the same way as the LUMIX GH7 by using the SFU3 Software Upgrade Key, excluding the REAL TIME LUT function which is not available on this model.

Creating a captivating tech video requires more than technical knowledge; it demands a keen eye for storytelling and understanding your audience’s needs and preferences.

These videos serve as a bridge between complex tech concepts and potential users, simplifying and enhancing the appeal of products.

Companies like Vidico Video Productions excel at crafting compelling narratives. They expertly blend technical information with engaging visuals to highlight tech products’ features and benefits. This approach draws attention and effectively communicates the product’s value to its target audience. As such, below are some essential keys to creating a tech video.

Planning Your Video

The first step in making an effective tech video is meticulous planning. Define your objectives, target audience, and key message. Consider what makes your technology unique and how best to showcase this to your audience. Creating a storyboard and script can help streamline the production process, ensuring that all necessary elements are included.

Choosing the Right Equipment

Selecting the right equipment—including cameras, lighting, microphones, and editing software—is crucial for producing a high-quality tech video.

Depending on your budget and the complexity of the video, you may choose between professional-grade equipment or simpler, more accessible tools that can still achieve great results. When selecting equipment, it’s important to consider the shooting environment.

Softer lighting and directional microphones may be needed for indoor shoots, while outdoor scenes might require more durable gear and solutions for managing ambient noise. Avoiding technical issues during shooting requires careful verification of equipment compatibility.

Shooting the Video

When filming, pay attention to the lighting, sound quality, and camera angles, as these elements can significantly affect the final product. Proper lighting ensures the product features are visible and appealing, while good sound quality is crucial for clear communication without distractions.

Camera angles and movement can influence storytelling by providing perspectives highlighting the product’s functionality or design. Use a variety of shots—including wide shots, medium shots, and close-ups—to keep the video dynamic and engaging.

Close-ups are particularly important in tech videos as they allow viewers to appreciate the intricate details and see the functionality up close. Additionally, consider using movements, such as pans or tilts, to add interest and guide the viewer’s focus to important aspects of the technology.

Editing and Post-Production

In the post-production phase, your raw footage is transformed into a polished video ready for your audience. This critical stage involves several detailed steps:

  • Cutting down footage to keep only the most effective shots.
  • Adding transitions to ensure smooth flow between scenes.
  • Integrating voice-overs or background music enhances the video’s narrative and emotional appeal.

Additionally, this phase is crucial for emphasizing the product’s key features through on-screen text and special effects. These elements are designed to make technical specifications and important information more accessible and engaging to viewers.

Lastly, color grading and audio enhancements ensure the final product has a professional look and sound. Maintaining consistency and quality throughout the video requires focused attention to detail at each step.

Incorporating Visual Effects

Visual effects can significantly boost the clarity and appeal of tech videos by illustrating functions that are tough to capture with standard filming. Here’s a guide on how to choose the right visual effects:

  • Identify the Need: Start by determining which aspects of your product are difficult to explain through live-action footage alone. Is it an internal mechanism or a software process?
  • Choose Appropriate Effects: For physical products, 3D modeling and animations can help demonstrate how components interact within a device. For software, screencasts or simulated UI animations can show the software in action.
  • Keep It Simple: Visual effects should simplify the understanding, not complicate it. Use effects that enhance comprehension, like slow motion or zoom-ins on crucial parts, without overwhelming the viewer.
  • Maintain Consistency: Ensure the effects’ visual style matches the video’s overall branding and style. Consistency in visual treatment helps in maintaining professional quality and brand alignment.
  • Test Viewer Understanding: Before finalizing, test the video segments with your target audience to see if the visual effects improve their understanding of the product.
  • Professional Help: If the required effects are complex, consider hiring experts like animators or a visual effects team. They can bring a level of polish and technical competence that might be hard to achieve in-house.

Optimizing for Different Platforms

Once your video is edited, consider where it will be displayed. Different platforms may require different formats or lengths. For instance, a video for Instagram might need to be shorter and more eye-catching than one intended for a detailed presentation at a tech conference.

Distribution and Marketing

The final step is distributing your video. Determine the best platforms to connect with your target audience, including social media, YouTube, or your company’s website. Effective SEO strategies, including relevant keywords in your video’s title and description, can enhance visibility and engagement.

The Takeaway

Tech videos are powerful tools that enhance user understanding and interest in complex products. By implementing these steps and partnering with professionals, you can develop engaging and informative videos that convey your tech innovations and distinguish you in the competitive market.

Corporate headshots are more than just photographs; they are powerful visual tools that communicate a company’s professionalism, credibility, and personality.

In today’s digital age, where first impressions are often made online, the quality and effectiveness of corporate headshots can significantly impact how individuals and businesses are perceived by their audience. With the emergence of AI headshot generators, businesses now have access to advanced technology that can enhance their corporate imagery and convey confidence to their audience. In this article, we’ll delve into the psychology behind effective corporate headshots, explore the role of AI headshot generators in optimizing professional imagery, and discuss strategies for capturing confidence in corporate portraits.

Understanding the Psychology of First Impressions

First impressions are formed within milliseconds of encountering a new face, and they play a crucial role in shaping our perceptions and judgments of others. Research in psychology has shown that factors such as facial expressions, body language, and grooming can all influence how we perceive individuals and make snap judgments about their personality, competence, and trustworthiness. When it comes to corporate headshots, capturing the right expression and conveying confidence is essential for making a positive first impression on clients, customers, and stakeholders.

The Importance of Confidence in Corporate Imagery

Confidence is a key trait that clients and customers look for when evaluating a company or individual. In corporate headshots, confidence is conveyed through facial expressions, posture, and demeanor. A confident-looking individual is perceived as competent, reliable, and trustworthy, whereas someone who appears insecure or hesitant may evoke doubt or skepticism. By capturing confidence in corporate headshots, businesses can project a strong and authoritative image that inspires trust and instills confidence in their audience.

Leveraging AI Headshot Generators to Enhance Confidence

AI headshot generators offer businesses a powerful tool for enhancing confidence in corporate headshots. These platforms leverage advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques to analyze facial features, adjust lighting and background settings, and even recommend poses and expressions that convey confidence and professionalism. By using AI technology to optimize corporate headshots, businesses can ensure that their employees project the right image and make a positive impression on clients and customers.

The Role of Body Language and Expression in Conveying Confidence

Body language and expression play a crucial role in conveying confidence in corporate Professional headshots. A confident individual typically exhibits open and relaxed body language, with shoulders back, chin up, and a genuine smile. By paying attention to these subtle cues and coaching employees to adopt confident poses and expressions during photoshoots, businesses can capture images that project strength, competence, and authority.

Strategies for Capturing Confidence in Corporate Portraits

When it comes to capturing confidence in corporate portraits, there are several key strategies that businesses can employ:

  • Professional Attire: Dressing in professional attire can help employees feel confident and project a polished image in their corporate headshots. Encourage employees to wear clothing that is appropriate for their role and reflects the company’s brand identity.

  • Confident Posture: Coach employees to adopt confident posture and body language during photoshoots. This includes standing tall, keeping shoulders back, and maintaining open and relaxed body language.

  • Genuine Smiles: Encourage employees to smile genuinely in their corporate headshots. A genuine smile conveys warmth, approachability, and confidence, whereas a forced or fake smile can appear insincere.

  • Eye Contact: Direct eye contact can convey confidence and establish a connection with the viewer. Encourage employees to look directly at the camera lens during photoshoots to create a sense of engagement and rapport.

  • Positive Visualization: Before the photoshoot, encourage employees to visualize themselves as confident and successful individuals. Positive visualization can help boost self-confidence and project a confident image in their corporate headshots.

The Impact of Confidence in Client Relationships and Business Success

Confidence is a powerful asset in client relationships and business success. Clients and customers are more likely to trust and engage with a company that exudes confidence and professionalism in its corporate imagery. By capturing confidence in corporate headshots, businesses can build credibility, inspire trust, and differentiate themselves from competitors in the market. Moreover, confident-looking employees are more likely to feel empowered and motivated in their roles, leading to increased productivity and success in achieving business objectives.

Ethical Considerations in Corporate Photography

While AI headshot generators offer numerous benefits for businesses, it’s essential to approach their use ethically and responsibly. Businesses should ensure that they obtain appropriate consent from employees before using their images for corporate headshots and respect their right to privacy and autonomy. Additionally, businesses should be transparent about the use of AI technology in editing and enhancing corporate headshots and avoid misleading or deceptive practices. By adhering to ethical guidelines and best practices, businesses can build trust and credibility with their audience and foster long-term relationships based on mutual respect and integrity.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Corporate Photography

As AI technology continues to advance, the future of corporate photography holds immense promise and potential. We can expect to see further improvements in AI headshot generators, resulting in even more sophisticated editing capabilities and customization options. Additionally, advancements in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies may redefine the concept of corporate headshots, allowing businesses to create immersive and interactive visual experiences that engage and resonate with their audience on a deeper level. By embracing the power of AI technology and prioritizing confidence and professionalism in corporate imagery, businesses can enhance their online presence, build trust and credibility with clients, and drive long-term success and growth in the digital age.

In conclusion, capturing confidence in corporate headshots is essential for making a positive first impression on clients and customers and projecting a strong and authoritative image. By leveraging AI headshot generators and employing strategic techniques to enhance confidence, businesses can optimize their corporate imagery and differentiate themselves in the market. Moreover, by prioritizing ethical considerations and transparency in corporate photography, businesses can build trust and credibility with their audience and foster long-term relationships based on mutual respect and integrity. As we look to the future, the potential of AI technology to transform corporate photography and client relationships is boundless, offering businesses new opportunities to connect with clients and drive business success in the digital age.

They say good things come in small packages and the Obsbot Tiny 2 4K webcam certainly fits the bill. It offers remarkable quality and features and manages to pack them into a compact chassis that can rest on top of your monitor or laptop.

The unit is 6.2cm tall and 4.4cm wide with a camera resting on a two-axis gimbal so it can effortlessly pan and tilt and keep you in the frame.

There is a small kickstand that allows users to securely position the camera on top of monitor or on top of a laptop’s screen.

We placed the Obsbot Tiny 2 on top of one of our external monitors which didn’t have a built-in camera.

The camera has a 1/1.5-inch CMOS sensor with a 26mm focal length and a 10cm minimum focus distance.

It has a 72.9-degree horizontal field of view and an 85.5-degree vertical FOV.

It is compatible with both Windows (Windows 10 or later) and Mac (macOS 11 or later) computers and performs best with computers equipped with Intel Core i5 processors or higher.

The Obsbot also has a companion application that allows users to enjoy the full range of features and access the settings.

In terms of video quality the Obsbot Tiny 2 can adapt to different lighting conditions thanks to its dual native ISO so you always looking bright and clear.

This means the colours look natural without overexposing the video and washing it out.

And it does all this automatically.

The dual native ISO also does the heavy lifting with the PixGain HDR feature that offers high dynamic range video without any motion blur.

And the camera can also handle group meetings and automatically frame everyone and keep all people in view.

Another impressive feature is Desk Mode which can bend and crop the image to look like a top down camera for the times you need to present something to your audience.

Also onboard is All-Pixel Auto Focus which can focus 4x faster even in low light conditions.

The Obsbot Tiny 2 also has Beauty Mode to keep you looking your best.

In this mode your skin instantly looks smoother and the areas around your eyes are brighter.

The Obsbot Tiny 2 connects to your computer with a USB-C 3.0 cable which offers 10 times faster data transmission and greater bandwidth so it can transmit 1080p video without any compression or transcoding.

And, of course, there’s also AI under the hood which powers features like Auto Tracking and Auto Zoom which can smoothly track the subject using a neural learning algorithm.

And it automatically adjust the zoom while it’s tracking as well.

The camera also has a range of voice controls for hands-free use.

Beauty Mode Off
Beauty Mode On

You can say “Hi Tiny” to turn it on and “Sleep Tiny” to turn it off and instruct it to track you, come closer and zoom out.

The Obsbot Tiny 2 can also be controlled with gestures.

For example you can zoom in and out by bringing your hands together and apart to zoom in and out and you can also hold up a hand to select a target area.

On the audio side, the camera has a crisp microphone system with noise reduction so you will sound as good as you look.

The Obsbot Tiny Smart Remote 2 is also an optional extra which puts every control at your fingertips.

The Obsbot Tiny 2 is available now and is priced at $519. The Obsbot Tiny 2 Remote Combo is priced at $592 and includes the Tiny Smart Remote 2.

The Paleblue rechargeable batteries are available in a number of formats – AA, AAA, C, D and 9 Volt  – and they each have a USB-C port built-in and come with a cable that can charge four batteries at once.

That means there is no need to have a separate charger that adds to the cost of the product and reduces the clutter in your home.

With buy more than a million single use batteries every day in Australia and more than 90 per cent of these end up in landfill which can leak toxins into the soil.

At the moment only 30 per cent of batteries bought in Australia are rechargeable and in the AA and AAA that figure drops to below 2 per cent.

Paleblue now offers an alternative for a better solution for customers who churn through a lot of batteries.

One Paleblue smart USB-C rechargeable battery can replace more than 4,000 single use alkaline batteries which will add up to thousands of dollars in savings.

Paleblue batteries are already being used on film sets, concert venues, cruise ships and also in household devices.

These batteries have also been tested to provide impressive performance and can be charged by USB-C anywhere, on the move or at home.

A set of four AA USB-C rechargeable batteries is priced at $49.95 and includes a special four-in-one charging cable. The eight pack is $89.95, 12 pack is $124.95.

The AAA four pack is $49.95, eight pack $89.95 and 12 pack is $124.95.

Ever seen those stunning astrophotography images and thought I’d like to get into that? Celestron has released Origin – its new computerised all-in-one observatory – which make capturing stunning astro images a snap.

I did have this thought myself a few years ago and took the steep learning curve to put together the equipment that could enable me to capture those same amazing celestial objects.

My set up included a telescope, a mount, a dedicated astrophotography camera and I had to learn how to do a polar alignment, find and track the target and then capture lots of long exposures and stack them together to produce those stunning images.

It’s a bit of work and takes a lot of practice and repetition to build up your skills and experience and improve over time.

The new Celestron Origin Intelligent Home Observatory puts everything you need – the telescope, mount and camera – all in one unit and allow users to control everything with an app on your smartphone or tablet.

The Celestron Origin system has everything you need to start your astronomy journey including a 6-inch RASA optical tube with built in camera, a single fork arm mount with an internal lithium battery, a built-in computer with Wi-Fi, an auto-focuser and a dew prevention system.

It also comes with a full height tripod and an AC charger.

The biggest feature of the Celestron origin is the 6-inch Rowe-Ackerman Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) telescope.

In the RASA design, the imaging sensor is at the front of the telescope.

It is an f/2.2 system with a nice wide field of view so you can capture even more in a single frame.

With this design, the light comes in through the lens, is reflected off a mirror at the back of the telescope with the image focusing on the sensor on the front of the unit.

The sensor Celestron uses is the Sony IMX178 colour CMOS sensor which offers high sensitivity and low noise to help you capture crystal clear images quickly and easily.

The Celestron Origin also does all the heavy lifting when it comes to capturing the data and stacking and processing every frame in real time.

Usually this process takes hours from capturing all your images and then using a separate application to stack and process the image.

The Celestron Origin can do all of that for you which makes this attractive to enthusiasts no matter their skill level whether they’re a beginner or a seasoned astronomer.

Under the hood of the Celestron Origin is the StarSense technology which automates the polar alignment and initialization process.

It can automatically align itself by matching star patterns with its internal database and letting you know when it’s ready to look for your astronomical target.

The Celestron Origin app includes the SkySafari maps while offering a planetarium interface that simplifies your navigation of the night sky.

Users can hold the app on their phone up to the sky in Compass Mode and then tap on any object they see whether it’s a galaxy, nebula, star cluster and more and then move the telescope automatically to that point in the sky.

You can also enjoy a live view of the target you’re capturing and cast it to your TV and hear information about the object as well.

The Celestron Origin is designed to be a portable system that doesn’t require external wi-fi networks and that also has a built in battery to operate on its own when take to remote dark sky areas.

The telescope, mount and tripod can all be disassembled without tools so they can be taken anywhere.

The Celestron Origin Intelligent Home Observatory is priced at $6999 and available to pre-order ahead of an April delivery.

It is available for pre-order through Bintel, Adelaide Optical Centre and Optics Central.

Apple had its streamed event to launch its M3 MacBook Pros and upgraded iMac yesterday but the tech giant did something it doesn’t normally do – it took us behind the scenes of the slick shoot where we discovered the whole thing was shot on the iPhone.

Apple’s events now consist of a brief in person introduction by CEO Tim Cook before they roll a high quality video to announce its new products and features.

The production value of all these videos are top shelf and yesterday’s “Scary Fast” event was no exception.

But what made it even more remarkable was that it was shot with the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max which enables new workflows through its USB-C ports.

https://www.youtube.com/live/ctkW3V0Mh-k?si=b8nHQbTIN_ryuzR0

This includes recording ProRes video up to 4K 60 frames per second (fps) directly to an external drive so you can record for longer than ever before.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max also offer Log encoding so you have even more options on post production.

“We were able to get the same complex shots with iPhone 15 Pro Max,” said director Broan Oakes.

“It’s amazing to see that the quality from a device that is so small and so portable can rival a large $20,000 camera.

“There’s cranes, there’s dollies, there’s all the toys that you want as a filmmaker, and everybody’s moving and has their job to do, and it’s just a very exciting and lively environment.”

“iPhone is great new tool in the palette of filmmakers.”

Apple also used the Australian company Blackmagic Design’s Camera app – an iOS exclusive and Beastgrip accessories.

And naturally the whole 30 minute video was edited on a Mac.

Pro users will be pleased to hear the new Hero12 Black offers GP-Log with available LUTs (look-up table) for easier colour grading in post.

Also onboard is wireless timecode sync when using multiple GoPro cameras in your shoot for easier multi-camera editing in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and other editing platforms.

But for casual users the GoPro still offers a handy compact size, a new easy to navigate user interface and your choice of multiple modes and options within each of those modes so you can get your video and pictures just right.

The new GoPro now offers 9:16 Vertical Capture Mode so your videos and images can slot right into popular social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Users will be impressed with the longer battery life which offers twice the runtime on a single charge with up 70 minutes of continuous recording at 5.3K6 0 (the highest performance setting), more than 95 minutes at 5.3K 30 and more than 155 minutes of continuous recording at 1080p 30, all with HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilisation on.

And this added battery life is not from a new battery chemistry but from the new power efficiencies of the camera.

The Hero12 Black can now shoot HDR photos and videos at 5.3K and 4K and the HyperSmooth 6.0 and Horizon Lock keeps your videos rock steady.

The GoPro Hero12 Black has its usual mounting fingers that can be used with the many GoPro mounting accessories, but it has now also added a tripod mounting thread so it can be attached to regular camera accessories.

And of course the camera is waterproof to a depth of more than 10 metres with no additional housing.

GoPro has also updated the Quik app but also released the Quik desktop which will be offered to Mac users at launch and to Windows users in the coming months.

Quik desktop lets you use your computer to make faster and easier edits on a bigger screen.

GoPro is also planning to release a 48-inch extension pole that can collapse down to just 10 inches along with waterproof Bluetooth shutter remote. They will be available in October.

The GoPro Hero12 Black will be priced at $649.95 with the Max Mod Lens costing $169.95 or $139.95 for GoPro subscribers.

Pre-orders have kicked off ahead of a September 13 release.

GoPro is also offering the Hero12 Black Creator Edition for $949.95 which includes lighting, microphone and mounting mods.

Rode has unveiled a new wireless microphone system – the Wireless PRO – which is designed to meet the needs of filmmakers and content creators.

The new compact wireless system is the most powerful Rode has ever created and delivers both versatility and high-quality audio to satisfy the most demanding filmmakers and creators.

The Wireless PRO has an impressive set of features not found in any microphone and Rode has managed to pack them in to this compact wireless system.

And Rode has still managed to offer the same pocket-sized design as the rest of the company’s range with a black-on-black colour to make them easier to stay hidden.

“In 2019, the Wireless GO was the first truly wireless microphone to enter the market,” says Rode CEO Damien Wilson.

“Rode was the first company to create a compact and easy to use workflow that forever changed the way creators capture audio for their content.

“The Wireless GO II took this even further, adding incredible new features and setting a new standard for compact wireless audio.

“Today, we take this iconic microphone a step further once again with the Wireless PRO.”

The Wireless PRO uses Rode’s Series IV 2.4Ghz digital transmission and near zero latency codec along with 128-bit encryption.

It has a wireless range of up to a remarkable 260m line of sight.

The device has 32-bit float onboard recording capabilities so you can record directly to the transmitters without audio clipping.

This means there will be a backup of the session and eliminates the need to set gain levels before shooting which saves valuable time.

There is 32GB of internal memory which means you can have more than 40 hours of onboard recording with dedicated buttons on the transmitters that allow you to easily start the recording.

When recording audio directly into the camera, the Wireless PRO uses GainAssist technology, first seen with the Wireless ME, that uses an intelligent algorithm to control your audio levels in real time.

This will ensure smooth output that’s balanced while minimising the risk of clipping.

The Wireless PRO offers a flexible output control with a 30dB gain range so you can set the mic’s output to suit the camera.

There are also pre-configured camera presets so you can set up quickly and easily.

The Rode Wireless PRO also has a safety channel which can output a second channel of audio 10dB lower than the main channel just in case the signal is too hot and clips the camera input.

This is like an insurance policy in the event of a ruined recording.

The Wireless PRO has advanced timecode sync capabilities which makes it easier to sync audio to video in post-production.

There is an internal time code generator that can sync audio with any camera which can easily be set up on a computer or smartphone via Rode Central.

There are also a number of other professional features including locking lavalier connectors to ensure your microphone stays in place along with plug-in power detect on the receiver which can automatically turn the unit on and off with the connected camera to extend battery life in the field.

The 3.5mm output on the receiver can also be used as a headphone output for monitoring as well as an audio input for headset or other TRRS narrator microphone such as a lavalier.

Wireless PRO can be easily set up to use on the go on a computer or with a smartphone using the Rode Central companion app.

Wireless PRO comes with everything you need to get to work including a smart charge case which can protect the transmitters and receiver wall not in use but also ensure they’re fully charged and ready to go.

The charge case also makes it easier to transfer data quickly so you can get your on board recordings to a computer in the studio or on the move.

Also included are two Lavalier II microphones for broadcast quality audio and the MagClip GO magnetic clips which offer other mounting options on the talent or on the recording device.

Also in the box are three high quality furry windshields so you can record in any conditions along with all the cables necessary for connecting to cameras, smartphones and other devices.

The Rode Wireless Pro will be available in late August and is priced at $699.

KEY FEATURES OF THE WIRELESS PRO:

– Compact dual-channel wireless microphone system

– Rode’s state-of-the-art Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission with 128-bit encryption for crystal-clear, incredibly stable audio at up to 260m (850 ft) line of sight

– 32-bit float on-board recording with 32GB internal memory for clip-free audio in any recording application

– Advanced timecode capability for quick-and-easy audio sync in post-production

– Locking 3.5mm lavalier connectors for complete security
