Elon Musk’s Starlink launches a portable “mini” version of their Satellite dish
If you’re into camping or caravanning then Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service might have a great new solution for your on-the-go internet needs.
Starlink Internet isn’t new here in Australia, it’s hugely popular in regional areas and with those doing the lap-of-the-map.
But the traditional Starlink satellite dish is a big unit to lug around with you, so if space and weight is at a premium, the new Starlink Mini might be ideal
It’s also ideal for those hiking to a campsite who want internet when they set up.
Starlink Mini is a single unit, that needs power though – so keep that in mind!
The WiFi “router” is self-contained within the dish, so it’s a single box just needs power and a kickstand to setup.
Once you’re setup, everyone has high speed interent.
But remember, there’s a big monthly cost of $174 for connectivity.
If you’re more of a casual user and can keep to 50GB of usage, you can get an $80 monthly plan also.
Starlink Mini is just over 1kg in weight and a huge reduction in size from the original unit, and it’s available now in Australia.
